Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all from all of us here are CNY Aviary.

First of all the news from the nursery - the last baby from 2009 is going on soon. 'Holly' the wonderful baby Sun Conure is going home soon with Paula and family from Connecticut. With that we have start concentrating on the spring season - our birdies this year is getting a slow start to things and only a few pairs on right now. More of them are showing the inclination to be aggressive and that means only one thing - that they are getting ready to do something. Both our Blue Crown pairs are taking it easy it seems and the only thing they have done so far is chew a nice hole at the bottom of their nest box. Talking about holes, Sunshine and Bubbay chew up 2 nest boxes in 2 days and the third one seems to be holding up good for them.

The quaker colony has been a mystery for us - they do not seem to be doing anything as of now. The greencheeks are working their boxes. We have the amazons on eggs. Due to their nature of being super aggressive while on eggs, we do not bother to candle the eggs and leave them alone, so it is going to be a surprise when and if they hatch the young one this year.
