Introducing Kira and Gorman
Written by George Saturday, 29 May 2010 22:03

This is Gorman and Kira - a pair of turquoise green cheeks. We got them home today from the breeder in PA (Thanks, Carol!). They are young and just weaned and they are going to be the base breeding stock for our Turquoise mutation green cheeks. The female (Kira) is yellowsided turquoise, as you can see from the light colored beak and chest areas. The male (Gorman) is a normal Turquoise split to yellowsided. So we can expect a variety of turquoise combinations from this pair. Here you can see them enjoying their soft foods - today it is brown rice, corn and green beans
Being an young pair, it's going to be a while before we get any babies, but we are excited to add another color mutation to our breeding stock of green cheeks.
