Perches - good perches are hard to come by

That is right - good perches are hard to come by and we needed some perches for our birdies. The bigger birds (Macaws) always got untreated pine (2x4) and then when we got the newer pairs and cages, that became a little difficult. They had their perches and they would chew it and in a day or two the perch would be hanging on one side. That is when we decided to get some hardwood perches. The advantages are enormous - the natural round shape is ideal for the bird to hold on to the perches and the uneven surface of the natural hardwood provides a massaging effect on the birds legs. So we were excited when the FedEx van pulled up today and delivered the perches. Here they are...

These are dragon wood perches and we got them from Alex Mentis at Perches Direct . The experience was good with Alex, the perches all came within the time frame provided, was really packed well and reasonably priced.
