Holidays, Christmas, Snow, New Year and more

It sure is December - the weather outside is miserably cold, but it is nice and warm inside. This year we did have a really wonderful Christmas. Santa was especially generous for all. We did have a couple of weeks in early December where we were bombarded with snow on a daily basis and then as quick as it started it stopped and we are in the midst of a break. We are sure living in upstate NY, this is not the end of Snow, but we sure are enjoying the break in snow fall for now. This weekend (New Year's) it is supposed to hit 50's and we love it.

Oh, what a year 2010 turned out to be - never in the wildest imagination we thought that this year will turn out like this. There were lots of ups and downs, but through it all we enjoyed our birds and the babies. We were able to meet a lot of new nice folks who love birds and we feel so happy to have helped some of them and thankful as we also learned a lot from all of them. We had babies go home and to hear back from the owners about how much they are enjoying the babies is the best part. We also were able to visit and keep in touch with old friends; it is a blessing to have good friends.

Looking forward to 2011 - we have decided to focus on what we enjoy the most - that is the bigger birds like Macaws. So slowly we will be moving out of the other birds. That does not mean that we will be totally getting rid of all the other birds. We have babies that were born here, who we have kept back for breeding, we have babies that we got them as babies and put together for breeding and also some other pairs, that we are attached to. All of them would be staying back for good with us. All this is going to be a slow transformation - one that will be virtually unnoticeable.

So with that said – from all of us here at CNY Aviary - “Have a safe and happy New Year”
