Excited about the new year that is here

The spring of December is gone and it is cold and snow all over. That is the normal weather in Central NY where we get hammered by the lake effect snow. According to our more weather conscious neighbor, we have already got 80 inches of snow this season and we are just starting winter. Our average is about 120 inches for the whole winter, but if this pace continues we are on target for 220 inches of snow when all is said and done - now that is a lot of snow.  We got a chance to candle the Green Wing eggs and they are clear again. We are not sure what to do next, these birds are 20 years old and now we are having 2 consecutive clear clutches. We are planning on taking the nest box down after 'Doc' finishes brooding and then we will try again after a few months of rest. Maybe we have to have the vet take a look at the birds especially 'Leena' - the male. Other than that everything is going good, we are excited as the date nears for the Sun's to hatch. We have couple of eggs from 'Penny' - our Alexandrine Parakeet and three eggs from 'Mollie'. So we are getting nervous and excited at the same time. Cross your fingers and pray for everything to go well.
