New Babies and Other updates from the aviary

We have two Sun Conure babies from this clutch of Sunshine and Bubba. We had four eggs and two babies. We are a little sad that we did not get more babies this time, but we consider each baby a blessing and are very thankful for the two wonderful fuzz balls we have now. Yesterday we pulled them from the nest box to be hand fed and right now they are so small that we have to feed them every couple of hours. We have a lot of disappointed customers on the waiting list, waiting for Sun Conure babies, and we understand the frustration, but having babies and everything going right is totally out of our hands and there is very little (if at all ) we can do about that.

On other news, our Blue Crowns are on eggs, we hope to get at least a baby from them. They are an interesting species - little larger than the Suns, with green as the primary color and a pale blue crown (more visible on adults). The striking thing about them is their ability to talk (very clearly) compared to the Suns. I would not put them is the same category as our Amazons (who are fluent talkers and has even fooled a lot of people to think there are people in our aviary). But the Blue Crowns do talk very nicely, and clearly. So we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

Spring is here and this weekend, I have to get the lawn mower out and clean up the yard and cut grass, hopefully it will stay nice over the weekend to do that.
